We have two ponds on the property. One is overflowing, and the other tends to leak and stay low all the time. The pond that is the main focal point is the one that is always low. These ponds are 720 feet apart, and we needed a way to move water from one to the other.
The issue: The ponds are 720 feet apart. (320 feet uphill and 400 feet downhill from full pond to low pond)
With some planning and 720 feet of 2″ PVC pipe, 1 check valve and 2 shut off valves we were able to construct a large siphoning hose which keeps the low pond continually looking great and full!
This was fun to build and requires no electricity to operate.
